We are back at work now after a rather extended break, and settling back into life in Katima. However, we have reached to decision to shorten our placement to one year instead of two, and will be returning to the UK at the end of September.
This decision comes as a result of recent sad events. Living and working here can be tough but when you are feeling happy and strong the challenge is enjoyable. However, when you are not feeling 100% in yourself it is a struggle. That is why Fearghal is not enjoying being here after all that has happened. We always said that we were doing VSO because it is something we both wanted and both enjoyed and that if either of us were not enjoying it we would not force ourselves to stay.
We both feel that doing VSO has been a fantastic experience and we feel we have already learnt a lot, made a difference to people and experienced many wonderful things while living and travelling in Namibia.
